What?

What is an internet site? What does it do?

For a business, it's a sales tool. No more, no less. You can call it an on-line interactive corporate brochure if you wish, but it's still a sales tool.

Even so, the analogy with the corporate brochure is valid. In the past your brochure has been the first opportunity a customer has had to gain an impression of you. Because you know that you never get a second chance to make a first impression, you put thought and effort into the style and look of your brochure.

So it should be with your web site. It should be easy to read, easy to navigate, and follow your corporate style. Any deviation from these rules will create the wrong impression.

The Golden Rules of internet sites:

  • Must download quickly
  • Graphics must mean something
  • Links must work
  • No scrolling to navigation bars
  • Avoid common clipart
  • Avoid Music
